Pearce heads up Nintendo’s UK marketing team

Shelly Pearce is the new UK marketing and PR director at Nintendo UK.

Pearce joined Nintendo in 1998 and has been working as head of European PR, working on all pan-European launches and on going PR communications for the console and software portfolio over the past 11 years.This includes Wii, Nintendo DS and 3DS, Wii Fit and Brain Training.

Pearce said: This is an exciting time to be joining the UK team with two major hardware launches on the horizon, Nintendo 3DS XL on July 28th and Wii U later this year.

I started my Nintendo career as part of the UK team and it’s great to return as we start this new chapter in our company’s history.”

Before joining Nintendo, Pearce worked at Strategic Alliance International as a PR manager.

Intent Media expands Mobile Entertaimnent and Licensing.biz teams

Mobile Entertainment has appointed Mike Shaw as its new editor. Shaw will help shape the future direction of Mobile Entertainment as it explores engagement of brands with mobile content.

Intent Media MD Stuart Dinsey said: It’s fantastic to welcome Mike to the team. Mobile Entertainment has established itself as a hugely respected voice in one of the world’s most dynamic industries.”

Elsewhere, Emilie George?has been hired from leading logistics, distributionand creative marketing company Gem. She will take up the role of account manager on ToyNews and Licensing.biz, reporting to group sales manager Lesley Blumson.

Sales manager Emily Briggs is leaving ToyNews for a new role at Media 10, whichruns the Grand Designs show and mediabrand.

Emily has been fantastic for us for these past three years and we are very sorry to lose her. But we already know Emilie George very well from her work within marketing and events side of Gem," Dinsey added.

SWTOR execs depart BioWare

EA has been rocked by two further executive departures.

BioWare’s ambitious MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, has lost its executive producer Rick Vogel.

Vogel is a 20-year industry veteran with previous experience on MMOs such as Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies.

On top of that, EA Easy Studios’ general manager Oskar Burman has resigned from his position.

It’s been a helluva fun ride,” he wrote on Twitter.Easy and Battlefield Heroes initiated a path that changed EA forever. A path that’s now grown to a highway.

One of many goals for me when joining EA was to see a large corporation from the inside. It’s time for some change. In August I have a new exciting shiny thing waiting for me, as soon as I can speak about it I will let you know."
