Develop in Brighton opens call for speakers

Develop in Brighton has opened its call for speakers as the game industry event gets ready to return on July 8th.

Prospective speakers have until March 7th to submit their proposals for the hugely popular conference, which last year attracted 1,667 attendees.

Applicants are advised to provide a ‘take away’ statement that clearly summaries what delegates can expect to get from the session as part of their proposal.

The Develop in Brighton conference will take place between July 8th and 10th later this year at the Hilton Metropole hotel in Brighton. The Develop Awards will take place on the evening of July 9th.

“We are very fortunate to have hosted some incredibly high calibre speakers over the years with keynotes from industry luminaries including Mark Cerny, Phil Harrison, David Perry, Tim Schafer, David Braben and Peter Molyneux,” said Tandem Events MD Andy Lane.

“We personally invite the majority of our speakers knowing – based on input from delegates and our advisory board – that they will deliver insight into the issues of most importance to the industry. But we also like to extend that invitation wider to ensure that all developers who have something valid and insightful to share have an opportunity to do so.

“Each year, the content of the conference evolves to ensure it reflects the ever-changing face of game development and this year, our ninth, will be no different in that respect including a brand new marketing track. In addition to the great programme, we’re introducing a number of new features, such as a Game Jam and more high-level tech talks, to ensure that developers have a fun-filled experience both in and out of the sessions. The aim – as always – is to create an event that’s accessible to all developers, from the smallest indies to the largest studios, and which fulfils their thirst for knowledge and for networking and having fun."
