Microsoft bids to make new Tony Hawk 360 exclusive

**UPDATED: MCV understands that whilst an exclusivity deal with Microsoft is currently in the works, the contract has not yet been finalised. An Activision spokesperson told MCV to refer to its original THR statement, which named 360, PS3 and Wii as the supported formats.**

The UK arm of publisher Activision Blizzard has announced that the upcoming Tony Hawk: Ride will be an Xbox 360 exclusive in the UK.

When officially revealed earlier this week, Ride was touted for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii – platforms it will presumably still be released on outside of the UK.

Microsoft is not a stranger to deals such as this, with EA’s massively hyped Rock Band also tied in to an exclusivity period in the UK whilst gamers in America got multi-platform support.

Sony, too, has recently played the ‘exclusive’ card, signing up Atari’s Ghostbusters for the PS3.

Bear in mind, too, that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 exclusive E3 slate is likely to be a little thin on the ground this year – a fact the Redmond firm will be looking to address in light of PS3’s very impressive 2009 release line-up.
