Microsoft delays Xbox One in China at the last minute

The much anticipated launch of Xbox One in China has been delayed at the last minute.

Originally due to arrive tomorrow, the console has now been pushed back to the end of the year to ensure the best possible service.

"At Xbox, we pride ourselves on delivering first-rate gaming and entertainment experiences, and to allow us to deliver on that promise, we need to reschedule the launch of Xbox One," a Microsoft spokesperson told Polygon.

"Working with our partner, BesTV, we look forward to launching in China by the end of this year."

Xbox’s launch in China follows the news that video games console can now be sold in the territory for the first time in 14 years inside the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. A planned launch event for Xbox One Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower will go ahead as planned, where 100 Xbox One consoles will be given away.
