Microsoft fails to make Xbox indie dev payments on time

Microsoft has failed to pay a number of Xbox Live Indie Games developers on time following what it calls technical issues with its payment systems.

The firm said over Twitter it is currently working on a fix to the issue and "anticipates" developers will be paid within the next two weeks. This should mean payments are made by December 17th.

Microsoft apologised for the situation and clarified the issue only affected Xbox 360 developers, and not those on Xbox One’s ID@Xbox programme.

According to a tweet from Freelance Games, developers were meant to be paid by November 15th at the latest for Q3. Microsoft did not make a public statement until December 3rd.
