Microsoft hires Valve’s former director of business

Valve’s ex-director of business Jason Holtman has joined Microsoft, Holtman himself has confirmed.

Speaking with Games Industry, Holtman explained his focus will be on improving the company’s Windows platform.

"Yes, I have joined Microsoft where I will be focusing on making Windows a great platform for gaming and interactive entertainment," he said.

"I think there is a lot of opportunity for Microsoft to deliver the games and entertainment customers want and to work with developers to make that happen, so I’m excited to be here."

Holtman joined Valve in 2005 and mainly assisted developers in bringing their games onto the firm’s digital distribution platform, Steam.

His departure from Valve came earlier this year, alongside over two dozen staff members from the company’s hardware and Android staff.
