Microsoft launches official Xbox Live app

iPad and iPhone users can now access their Xbox Live account via an official Microsoft app.

The iOS software allows 360 owners to sign in and interact with their friends without the need for a console, according to Major Nelson.

They can read and send messages, manage their friends list and, of course, compare those all important achievements with their rivals.

They can also read and edit their Live profile, and customise their Avatar with any virtual items they have purchased.

The app is free and available now on the Apple App Store. The interface matches that of the new Xbox dashboard, which went live earlier this week.
