Microsoft has unveiled the first gameplay video and game details for Terminal Reality’s upcoming Star Wars Kinect title, preempting the company’s E3 conference this afternoon.
Set for a Christmas 2011 release, EW.com is reporting that the game will feature content drawn from all six of the epic sci-fi franchise films. Series locations and characters will appear, as well as a ‘Jedi Destiny’ campaign mode that allows one to two players to play through a unique story within the Star Wars universe.
A voice command function has also been confirmed, but Microsoft has not specified how it will work.
"What we found early in development is that [no one wants] to look like ‘Star Wars kid’ in front of [their] friends," said Craig Derrick, LucasArts’ lead producer on the project.
"If I am doing these actions, and if I am seeing the character on screen repeating those actions, I want to look bad-ass. We decided to augment the animation, so when I sweep my hand right to left with my lightsaber, it’s going to look cool. That was a major challenge and it works."
