Millenial Esports grabs €2.5m chunk of French online TV network Alt Tab

Millenial Esports, a Canadian esports company that provide turnkey solutions for the esports industry, has invested €2.5m in a French online TV network, Alt Tab.

Alt Tab are best known for OGaming TV, a French-language esports channel which broadcasts international events in French. This means French fans can watch events like Valve’s CS:GO majors or Dota 2 International tournament, or Riot’s League of Legends’ Worlds tournament.

"As the global leading French-language esports group, tournament organizer, content creator and broadcaster, Alt Tab is at the cutting edge of all things esports and is extremely well positioned in the esports ecosystem in continental Europe and elsewhere," said Alex Igelman, CEO of Millennial in a press statement.

"By plugging into this network, we will have access to opportunities outside of North America through Alt Tab. Conversely, Alt Tab will be able to leverage our access to capital, our competitive gaming platform, our Las Vegas studio and arena, Stream Hatchet data analytics, and our strategic relationships and know-how for their benefit."

As part of the deal, Millennial now own 38.46 per cent of Alt Tab’s shares, with an option to purchase the remaining shares at a later date. Getting a big chunk of Alt Tab secures a lot of content creation opportunities for Millennial, who already operate an esports arena in Las Vegas, run the community platform millenialesports.gg and own the streaming data outfit Stream Hatchet.

Despite Millennial’s large stake in the French company, Igelmann has said that Alt Tab will continue to have ‘operational autonomy’
