More awards for Naughty Dog

Sony studio Naughty Dog added more awards to its congested trophy cabinet as the Californian outfit picked up four honours at the GAME British Academy video game awards.

The Uncharted 2 developer saw off stiff competition and won four of the eight categories it was nominated in – the most picked up by any nominee on the night.

Naughty Dog took home awards in the fields of Action, Story, Score and Use of Audio. The new haul of wins adds to the studio’s ten AIAS prizes, five Game Developers Choice Awards, and three VGAs.

The studio’s co-president Evan Wells (pictured) said Uncharted 2 was “the definition of a team effort” during his award speech.

“This is an absolutely huge honour It’s a great privilege to be able to accept this award on behalf of Naughty Dog,” he said.

“I’d like to thank our friends and families for putting up with the long hours it took to make the game. It was 22 months of a really tough schedule so thank you very much.”

Uncharted 2, an action-adventure title of towering production standards and cinematics, did not however manage to the coveted Best Game award. That prize was handed Batman Arkham Asylum; one of the two awards picked up by Londoners Rocksteady.
