More online shutdowns for EA

EA has announced a fresh batch of online server shutdown that will this time leave owners of several next-gen titles unable to access the online component of some of their titles.

The news follows confirmation of a large number of server shutdowns last month.

Games affected in this round of culls include Army of Two, Def Jam, Godfather, Lord of the Rings: Conquest and The Simpsons.

The consequence most likely to enrage consumers will be the inability to access online-associated Achievements on Xbox 360 – something that’s a big feature in games like Lord of the Rings, for instance.
