Music maestros sought for GamesAid Christmas concert

GamesAid is on the hunt for aspiring singers and classic music talent to take part in the games industry’s first-ever Christmas concert.

The event – set up between senior figures in the games industry – will take place at London’s St Stephen’s Rosslyn Hall on Wednesday, December 19th.

And hidden talent from the games industry is encouraged to come forward to help raise money for GamesAid. Participants can either perform a musical piece, sing a solo or join the games industry choir, which will act as the centre piece for the event.

To take part, the organisers are holding an open casting call and summer sing event in Central London on Thursday, August 30th at 6:30pm. UKIE’s Andy Payne, Sega’s John Clark and Square Enix’s Ian Livingstone are set to attend.

The UK games industry is awash with talented individuals, and there’s nothing greater than music to unite us to raise money for GamesAid’s worthy causes,” said organiser and musical director Ian Chambers (of IGN Entertainment fame).

You’ll be among friends, all are welcome and there will be no Cowellesque behaviour – just bring your musical instrument or your best singing voice and we’ll make good use of your talent.”

Other fundraising set to take place includes a mince pie bake-off and the chance to nominate your boss to perform at the concert by making a GamesAid donation.
