Need for Speed is heading to next-gen consoles in the form of Need for Speed Rivals.
The title has been developed by EA’s newest studio, Gothenburg-based Ghost Games.
In Rivals, players race as either a cop or racer with different aims for each. Racers aim to capture their dramatic escapes on video with Speed Points amassed for escaping the police whilst cops work with a team to take down racers and climb the hierarchy of the police force.
Rivals will also see Ferrari return to the Need for Speed franchise alongside a brand new online feature called AllDrive. This allows players to move between playing single player and multiplayer seamlessly as online rivals join and leave races as and when they want.

For the first time, players will have the freedom to seamlessly go from single player to co-op to multiplayer. In Need for Speed Rivals we are creating one game experience with one progression, where the freedom to play with friends is more fluid and accessible than ever before.”
Set in the fictional Redview County, other features include the Autolog-powered Need for Speed Network, new customisation options and 11 gadgets to use in races.
The game has been built using the Frostbite 3 game engine and is coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this year, as well as Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 19th.
Players that pre-order Need for Speed Rivals at participating retailers will receive the Need for Speed Rivals Ultimate Cop Pack which offers the Nissan GT-R Black Edition cop car, advanced pursuit technology, and a custom livery.
