A new smaller and cheaper Raspberry Pi model A+ has been released by the non-profit foundation.
The new unit costs $20 (£15), $5 less than the previous model. The model uses the BCM2835 application processor and has 256mb of ram, but is now 21mm shorter at 65mm in length. It also consumes less power, features better audio and the GPIO header has grown to 40 pins.
The new hardware will be built at the same Sony factory based in South Wales as the one used to manufacture the Model B+.
The release of the Model A+ comes a few months after the launch of the B+, which also aded new functionality to the credit card sized computer at the same price as the first B model.
Earlier this year the Raspberry Pi was named the top tech in games by a number of CTOs, developers and other technology experts.
