Epic Games has released a new version of its UDK technology, incorporating “God rays and shadows” support for iOS along with Facebook compatibility, the company has announced.
Foliage paint tools and support for flurry analytics are among the new features added to help utilise Apple’s A5 chip.
The update also allows Facebook users to download their friends list and create wall posts.
Other improvements to the platform include added support for tilt/touch outside of MobilePlayerInput and a number of bug fixes to the Unreal Editor.
UDK is the free version of Unreal Engine 3 for consoles, PC and mobile and has been used to develop games such as Epic’s own action role-playing game Infinity Blade and Crystalised’s upcoming Desert Zombie: Last Stand.
