New recruits at GamesRadar+

Future has bolstered the GamesRadar+ editorial team.

The publisher has made five new additions to the UK team. Kotaku UK news editor Leon Hurley joins as executive news editor and former Official PlayStation Magazine writer Louise Blain is coming on board as news lead.

Meanwhile GamesRadar+ associate editors David Houghton and Justin Towell have been promoted to features and reviews editor respectively, while GamesMaster production editor Daniella Lucas is moving to the site as content manager.

There have also been some additions to the site’s American team.

Former Joystiq editor-in-chief Ludwig Kietzmann and managing editor Susan Arendt join GamesRadar+ in those same roles.

The publisher has also revealed some stats about the performance of GamesRadar+ since the start of the year. Global users have increased 50 per cent year-on-year to 8m, while in January pageviews increased 65 per cent to 100m.

In the UK alone, users have increased to one million, while pageviews rose 78 per cent to 12m.

We are delighted with how GamesRadar+ has performed since launch in November, with better than expected traffic across the entire site," said Future’s head of content and marketing for games, music and film Declan Gough.

"The redevelopment of the News and Reviews channels is a significant step and will give the users a much more enriched experience.”

GamesRadar+ global editor-in-chief Sophia Tong added: "It’s an incredibly exciting time for everyone at GamesRadar+ and we’re thrilled to be welcoming so many talented new additions to the team. I’m so happy to share that Leon, Louise and Daniella from our sister brands are joining us, who are all fantastic to work with already. David and Justin could not be more deserving of their promotions, and Ludwig and Susan’s credentials speak for themselves, and will undoubtedly bring a fresh, new dynamic to the team."
