GTA San Andreas heading to Xbox Live

Microsoft has announced that the next title to join its offering on the Xbox Live Originals service will be Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The original Xbox and PS2 title appeared in 2005, and was the third 3D outing for the GTA franchise. Building on the success of predecessor GTA: Vice City, San Andreas took the series back to ‘da hood’, concentrating on gangster rap culture.

New features included extensive character customisation options – players could build up a muscular lead if they visited the gym regularly, though if they neglected their health and gorged on fast food they risked becoming obese.

The game will cost 1200 Microsoft Points (just over 10) and will release on October 20th in North America. The European release date has not yet been confirmed.
