UK CHARTS: Toy Story 3 flying high

Disney Interactive this morning can lay claim to its first ever title to claim the top spot three times in the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track Top 40 – licensed movie outing Toy Story 3.

It does so despite a 17 per cent drop in sales. So far this year only three other titles have spent longer at the top – EA’s 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption and Ubisoft’s Just Dance.

The only newcomer in the Top 10 is EA’s Madden NFL 11 at number 10, though Nintendo’s DS teaching tool jumps from 28th to fifth.

Elsewhere in the listings, Sega’s Aliens vs. Predator re-enters the charts at number 20. There are also re-entries for Forza 3 (27th), Naughty Bear (28th), Rabbids Go Home (30th) and James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game (38th).

Chart-Track has also confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has not yet passed Brain Training to become the UK’s most successful ever title – all signs point to it doing so this week, however.

Here’s the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 10 in full (for the week ending August 14th):
1. Toy Story 3 (Disney Interactive)
2. Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar)
3. Dance on Broadway (Ubisoft)
4. LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 (Warner Interactive)
5. Art Academy (Nintendo)
6. Just Dance (Ubisoft)
7. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies
8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
9. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo)
10. Madden NFL 11 (EA)
