Yoostar 2 is the next Guitar Hero

Innovative camera-based game Yoostar 2 has the potential to match the success of Activision’s Guitar Hero franchise.

That’s according to former Red Octane and Activision exec Dave Noble, who was instrumental in launching the best-selling rhythm action series in the UK and Europe.

Noble now works as vice president of European business development for Yoostar, publisher of the upcoming Yoostar 2.

Spiritually this is the next Guitar Hero,” Noble told MCV. Both games feature a similar emphasis on their social elements.

The game, which will be distributed by Namco Bandai, allows players to re-enact their favourite movie scenes through Kinect and Move. They can even share their performances via Facebook, Twitter and more.

Available films range from classics such as Casablanca and The Terminator to more recent hits like Kick Ass, with additional scenes on the way in the form of DLC.

Namco Bandai’s marketing director Lee Kirton added: Yoostar 2 will be the next social gaming phenomenon, building on the progress made by games such as Guitar Hero and SingStar.”
