Disney Interactive names new senior VP

Following reports of widespread job cuts at the firm yesterday, Disney Interactive has named Adam Sussman as its new senior vice president of publishing.

He joins from EA where since 2007 he has served as the vice president of worldwide publishing at its mobile division. He tenure there saw a period os sustained growth and success on Apple’s iOS platforms.

This will be Sussman’s second stint at Disney following a six year spell overseeing digital initiatives up until 2005.

Between 2005 and 2007 he also served as the general manager at Take-Two.

"Adam’s ability to grow businesses geographically as well as his talent for working across platforms and distribution channels make him an ideal leader in our games division," co-president John Pleasants stated.

His passion for games and his understanding of all facets of the business will make him a key part of oursuccess.”

The appointment comes a day after claims of up to 350 job losses across Disney’s studio division. The company is currently trying to distance itself from console development to focus instead on growing mobile platforms.
