Nintendo revises privacy policy

As the industry continues to come to terms with the wider implications of the PSN breach, Nintendo has contacted Club Nintendo members about the introduction of a new privacy policy.

As part of it, the company asks permission to gather information from users. Users who don’t check or agree to the new policy will from May 31st be unable to spend any Stars in their personal Stars Catalogue and their membership will be cancelled.

"At Nintendo we respect the privacy rights of our online visitors and we recognise the importance of protecting your personal details," an email to users reads.

"To allow us to implement additional features on our website, to improve our products and to adapt them to our users’ needs and preferences, we need your permission to gather information about your online activities on our website and with Nintendo products.

"We look forward to seeing you again on our website soon, and hope you will enjoy the new generation in video gaming together with us."
