Games developer and animation studio still plans to release final creation

Littleloud closes doors

UK developer Littleloud is set to close.

The news emerged via a statement on the developer’s website.

"All good things must come to an end, and after thirteen years as one of the UK’s most amazing creative game and animation studios, we have decided to take our bow and say farewell," read the prepared statement.

"As anyone who’s done it can tell you, it’s hard work running a studio, and after a year of ups and downs it felt like the right time to let it go and explore other creative ventures."

Previously a BAFTA-winner, Littleloud revealed it still hopes to release its current game project, Sticks and Stones, in the coming months.

"We also want to say thank you to all the people we’ve worked with over the years, especially those that kept coming back to us with money to make different exciting things, those that took a chance on us and and our ideas, and those that enabled us to make some of our best work," read the statement.

Littleloud was perhaps most renowned in the games industry for its work for UK broadcaster Channel 4, which included The Curfew (pictured) and Sweatshop, the latter of which was pulled from Apple’s store despite being conceived to highlight the reality of workers treatment in clothing factories across the world.
