110 jobs lost in Rovio studio closure

Rovio has laid off approximately 110 staff and closed its studio in Tampere.

In October the Angry Birds developer announced it was set to make as many as 130 employees redundant, 16 per cent of its total workforce. This figure has now been revised down however.

The development outfit noted that the exactly number of layoffs depends on how many new positions opened for internal applications are filled. As part of the restructuring, Rovio has also closed its Tampere studio in Finland. The company still has game studios in Espoo and Stockholm, as well as other offices around the world.

Develop has more details.
