After three years the Power Rangers Dota 2 team has disbanded

Power Rangers has announced that its Dota 2 team, which has been together in one way or another for the best part of three years, has disbanded.

All of the current roster are now free agents and free to join a team. Chances are many of them will hold out until after the Boston Major when there will inevitably be a sizable team shuffle.

The team originally formed back in mid 2013, and have been a constant presence in the European/CIS scene since. They have never found massive success and never managed to qualify for a major, but they have always been towards the top of the tier 3 EU squads.

Over the years the Power Rangers team has been a bit of a breeding ground for CIS players. Multiple players who have been in or are currently on top CIS teams got their break is PR, such as Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev, Maxim "Shachlo" Abramovskikh, Rinat "KingR" Abdullin, Dmitry "Ditya Ra" Minenkov, Artsiom "fng" Barshack, Roman "Scandal" Sadotenkov and Rostislav "fn" Lozovoi to name just a few of the big names.

Interestingly the stalwarts of the PR team, Eugene "chshrct" Kastrama and Alexei "j4" Lipai, who have been with Power Rangers since 2013 are now free agents for the first time, and certainly have the potential to join a big team. Alexei "j4" Lipai has been the team’s captain for some years and Eugene "chshrct" Kastrama is one of the most underrated players in Europe. It remains to be seen if the two will stick together or go their separate ways.

Unfortunately we should announce officially that @prdota2 team is disbanded,” said the Power Rangers organisation on Twitter. Wish all the best to the players and thank you fans for support.”
