Bandai Namco reports positive six-month income and sales results

Bandai Namco has reported an increase in income and sales for the company’s first half of fiscal 2015.

For the period between April 1st and September 30th 2014, net income was up 8.5 per cent year-on-year to $184,000, while net sales reached $2.2m – a 13.5 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Operating income was also up 20.8 per cent to $276,000, and recurring income rose 16.9 per cent to $289,000.

The firm sold 2.8m copies of its tiles in the US, and another 2.6m in Japan as well. In the six-month period, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution sold 65,000 units in Japan, US and Europe.

Other standouts for the period include One Piece Unlimited World Red (50,000 units), Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment (40,000 units) and Super Robot Wars Z 3 (40,000 units) – each of which are currently exclusive to Japan retail.
