CCP cuts 49 jobs in latest round of layoffs

Eve Online studio CCP has been hit with another wave of layoffs, cutting 49 members from its publishing team.

"As part of our strategy to focus on the EVE Universe, today CCP conducted a restructuring that resulted in the layoff of 49 people in our publishing organisation," the company stated.

"Though it is hard to say goodbye to our friends and family, this action concludes the process we started several months ago. CCP has provided severance packages and job placement assistance for those affected.”

CCP confirmed earlier this year that it had cancelled MMO World of Darkness and let go of 56 employees in the process. As it did before, the firm has assured that this latest reduction in staff won’t affect current development plans.

Development teams and plans for EVE Online, EVE: Valkyrie, DUST 514, and ‘Project Legion’ are not impacted by the restructuring."
