Clint Hocking reunites with Ubisoft

Following his sudden exit from Amazon, Far Cry 2 creative director Clint Hocking has rejoined Ubisoft.

In a post on Ubisoft’s blog, the company confirms Hocking’s rehiring as creative director for Ubisoft Toronto. Hocking had spent nine years at Ubisoft Montreal before leaving in 2010.

The move comes in wake of his recent departure from Amazon Game Studios. Hocking himself addressed his progression from LucasArts, to Valve, to his most recent stop – specifically pointing to the anxiety of not shipping a title during that stretch.

But as the five year mark approached, and I realized I had not shipped a game in seven years, I started to become anxious and depressed," Hocking writes. "As a result, I decided at the beginning of the summer to return to Canada."

No official word as of yet regarding what specific projects Hocking will be assigned to.
