Dead Space 2 DLC announced

Publisher EA has announced Dead Space 2: Severed – a DLC download for the soon-to-be-released Dead Space 2.

Severed will see two stars from Wii title Extraction, Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdock, return to the fore. The narrative will run in parallel with that of Dead Space 2.

EA has also confirmed that the main game includes EA’s Online Pass, which is required to access the online aspects of the title. Those who buy the game second hand will need to purchase a new code from EA (800 MSP on XBL, $9.99 on PSN).

After years of anticipation we’re thrilled to unveil the next series of events in the Dead Space universe,” Visceral Games’ executive producer Steve Papoutsis stated.

In creating Dead Space 2, we listened very closely to the community’s feedback and created a deeper, more intriguing, more terrifying sequel. With excitement guaranteed to keep people on the edge of their seats, players will not only experience all-new environments, weapons and zero-G controls but they’ll also experience the other side of the battle when they play as Necromorphs for the first time in multiplayer."

Dead Space 2 is out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this Friday (January 28th) in the UK. It was released today in North America.
