Dirt 4 release date set for June 9th

Dirt 4 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 9th, Codemasters and Koch Media have confirmed. Building on the success of last year’s Dirt Rally, Codemasters says Dirt 4 will take its off-road racer to the next level this summer.

White knuckle truck and buggy racing will also be making a return to the Dirt series in the game’s Landrush mode. Here, players will be able to race across short-court dirt tracks in Pro Buggies, Pro-2 and Pro-4 Trucks and Crosskart vehicles across three different locations in California, Nevada and Mexico.

What makes Dirt 4 stand out from its predecessors, however, is its new Your Stage system. This rally route creation tool will allow players to create a near infinite number of stages at the touch of a button. Players will be able to choose their location and route parameters, and then the Your Stage system will do the heavy-lifting, creating unique rally stages that players will then be able to share with their friends online and set challenges to beat their lap time. It will cater to both new and veteran players, too, giving players the option of creating longer, more technical routes or simpler courses to practice their skills on.

Elsewhere, Dirt 4 will also feature over 50 classic off-road cars including the Ford Fiesta R5, Mitsubishi Lander Evolution VI, Subaru WRX STI NR4 and the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2, as well as five rally locations spanning Australia, Spain, Michigan, Sweden and Wales. The Joyride mode, meanwhile, holds plenty of laptime and smash challenges, and also provides a free-play area for players to mess around in.

A career mode will also be available alongside daily, weekly and month-long online challenges against players from around the world. Dirt’s RaceNet system will also introduce live ladder, leagues and tournaments, as well as cross-platform leaderboards and an enhanced CREST telemetry system.

To celebrate the announcement, Codemasters has released a new trailer for the game, which you can watch below:
