DriveClub PS Plus Edition might not be ready for UK launch tomorrow

It’s looking increasingly unlikely that the free PS Plus Edition of Evolution racer DriveClub will be ready for the game’s UK release tomorrow.

The PS Plus Edition was delayed yesterday as the developers continued to struggle with server problems preventing owners of the full paid game connecting online.

It is hoped that in delaying the free SKU Evolution will have a better chance of solving the current problems.

"The team at the studio are working around the clock to resolve the issue and are rolling out updates day by day to increase the numbers," Sony Europe told VideoGamer.

In order to help all Driveclub players get off to the best start while we keep working on this, we’re temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition and the My Driveclub app to ease the load and traffic to the servers. This should give players a better chance of connecting to the game servers.

"The Driveclub servers are global, so this will apply to all territories."

The most recent update from Evolution said that the servers were operating at full capacity, with players still reporting connection problems.

Those who pre-ordered the PS Plus Edition upgrade are still able to download the game – or indeed pre-load, which is up and available now – but will face the same connection problems.
