DriveClub VR appears to still be on track

A ratings listing for DriveClub VR suggests that the game remains in the works despite the closure of its developer.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has published a new listing for the PS4 title for the US market, complete with an E (Everyone) rating. The page also points to the game offering traditional races, time trials, and drifting challenges”, which is far more content than the last time it was shown to the press.

The future of the game was in doubt following the news last month that Sony had closed down DriveClub developer Evolution.

At the time Evolution’s senior community manager Jamie Brayshaw said that Sony was taking up the mantle of supporting and growing Driveclub, although whether that included the ongoing development of the VR version was unclear.

DriveClub will live on under the care of the awesome team at PlayStation and we hope it will continue to thrive in their safe hands,” he added. Who exactly has assumed development duties is unknown.

Codemasters subsequently acquired Evolution’s staff, although DriveClub’s rights remains with Sony.
