Dying Light debuts at No.1 in the UK

Warner Bros’ new open world parker zombie title Dying Light has debuted in first place in the GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

This is the first No.1 that the publisher has had since last February’s The LEGO Movie Videogame. Dying Light was meant to come out last month, but the physical edition was delayed until February 27th.

This is also the third consecutive week that there has been a new IP at the top of the charts, following in the footsteps of 2K Games’ Evolve and Sony’s The Order 1886.

Other debutants in the Top 40 include Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse in third place, and Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires in 21st place. Xenoverse had the best week one sales in the UK for a Dragon Ball title.

In its second week, The Order 1886 drops from first to fourth place following a 56 per cent decline in sales, while a 54 per cent drop in sales sees Evolve fall five places to No.8.

And further down the charts, a retailer promotion helps Wolfenstein: The New Order’s sales rise 80 per cent, bringing Bethesda’s shooter back into the Top 40, rising to 25th.

Below is the Top Ten for the week ending February 28th:

1. Dying Light, Warner Bros
2. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Activision Blizzard
3. Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Bandai Namco
4. The Order 1886, Sony
5. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
6. FIFA 15, EA
7. Far Cry 4, Ubisoft
8. Evolve, 2K Games
9. Minecraft: Xbox Edition, Microsoft
10. Minecraft: PlayStation Edition, Sony
