ELEAGUE will be broadcast on Twitch thanks to multi year deal

Turner and WME | IMG, the two companies running ELEAGUE, have partnered with Twitch in order to broadcast the upcoming competition on the streaming platform.

The multi year deal means all the live matches from ELEAGUE will be broadcast on Twitch along with on demand content. Each week will see six games played per day, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and then Thursdays will see the best of three semi finals. The final on Fridays will be streamed on Twitch as well as broadcast on US TV network TBS.

The first of two seasons scheduled for this year starts on Tuesday 24th May, and will feature group A competing for a slot in the finals. Each week a new group will play in the same format before the LAN finals at the end of the season, where the $1.2 million prize pool will be distributed.

Twitch has become the live streaming destination for millions of gamers on a global scale and we’re looking forward to directly connecting ELEAGUE with its passionate community,” said Christina Alejandre, General Manager of ELEAGUE. We’re incredibly excited for the launch of ELEAGUE and Twitch provides us with a premier destination for fans to congregate and engage with our live event coverage.”

At Twitch, we love to see partners push the envelope of live digital broadcasting,” said Kevin Lin, COO, Twitch. Turner and WME | IMG investing heavily in esports with ELEAGUE is a great move in the right direction for the development of the industry, with their expertise sure to elevate the experience for fans, players and teams alike.”
