Ellen Page: Naughty Dog ripped off my likeness for The Last of Us

Ellen Page has spoken out against the character of Ellie in The Last of Us, claiming that Naughty Dog ripped off her likeness for the game.

VG247 points to a Reddit AMA by Page, where she mentions her thoughts on the PS3-exclusive.

I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated,” Page said.

The original version of Ellie shown during the reveal of The Last of Us drew a lot of attention over marked similarities to the actor – so much so that the studio later made efforts to tone down the similar appearance.

Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann took to Twitter earlier this month to praise Ashley Johnson for her portrayal of Ellie, stating that the character was perfectly played” by the voice actor.

No one could’ve done a better job,” Druckmann said.

Beyond Two Souls is also due out exclusively on PS3, and is expected this October.
