Fallout 4 release caused dip in Pornhub traffic

Adult video site Pornhub has said that the release of Fallout 4 caused a temporary dip in its traffic.

The site told VentureBeat that traffic among its gaming users fell 10 per cent upon the game’s release. Traffic first started falling at around 5am US time on the day of release as gamers finished downloading the game. There was another dip at 6pm that evening.

On the flip side, traffic from gamers surged again around 11pm – presumably when the wastelands were starting to get a bit lonely.

We can’t say we’re too surprised with what happened to our traffic during peak gaming hours,” Pornhub VP Corey Price said.

Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”

As huge fans of the game, we can’t say we blame anyone for swapping Pornhub time for some Pip-Boy surfing instead. We would have done the same.”

Fallout 4 debuted at No.1 in the UK charts this morning thanks to excellent UK sales.
