FIFA 17 takes No.1 spot in Japan

EA’s latest football title has shot to the top of the Japanese games charts, according to data provided by Famitsu.

The PS4 SKU of FIFA 17 was the best-selling of the week, shifting 52,544 units, while the PS3 SKU debuted at No.5 with 12,343 copies sold. Rival PES 2017 is in sixth place, with 8,485 copies sold on PS3.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 rises two places to No.2, with 23,730 copies sold, despite a 22 per cent dip in sales.

Debuting in fourth place was Demon Gaze 2 from Kadokawa Games. This title launched in Vita with 16,874 copies sold.

The PS4 version of Atlus’ Persona 5 falls to third place, with sales dipping 50 per cent week-on-week.

Meanwhile in ninth place is Dead Island: Definitive Collection, which launched in the region courtesy of Spike Chunsoft.

Over in the hardware charts, PS4 sales dipped 21 per cent but it was still the best-selling console of the week.
