Another of Xbox’s key IPs is making the jump to PC.
The news comes via a now-removed story on The Seattle Times, Eurogamer reports. The game is called Forza Motorsport 6: Apex. It’s developed by Turn 10 Studios and is described as a slimmed down version of its Xbox cousin” that is positioned as an effort to show off the gaming potential of Windows 10”.
It will be free-to-play.
The title was apparently revealed at a San Francisco press event last week, at which Xbox boss Phil Spencer yet again reiterated Microsoft’s PC intentions, stating: We are 100 per cent committed to the PC-gaming space. That is a long-term commitment from us. We know we have a lot to prove.”
Microsoft last month confirmed a PC release for former Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break. The game will only be available via the Windows Store and will not be sold on Steam. It will also be a Windows 10 exclusive.
The news provoked some of the Xbox fanbase who felt their system was being devalued by the game’s migration to PC.
