Future names Joel Gregory as GamesMaster editor

Former PlayStation: The Official Magazine deputy editor returns to Future.

Joel Gregory has been appointed as editor of multi-format magazine GamesMaster. He replaces Matt Pellett, who switched across to fellow Future publication PlayStation: The Official Magazine earlier this month.

Gregory returns to Future following a stint at Which? magazine, which he joined as senior writer in November last year.

He originally joined Future in April 2010 as staff writer on PlayStation: The Official Magazine before working his way up to the role of reviews editor in May 2011 and eventually deputy editor in May 2012.

"I’m extremely pleased to be heading up a publication as well-loved and long-lasting as GamesMaster, especially at such an exciting time for both the industry and the magazine itself," said Gregory.

"Having been away from games media for a few months I can confirm that real jobs are definitely not for me, and I’m delighted to be joining a team that’s small but brilliant. Like a pygmy hedgehog. Together we’ll work hard to put out the best multi-format gaming magazine around."

Lee Nutter, head of games for Future, added: "Joel is steeped in the world of gaming and enjoyed tremendous success during his time on PlayStation: The Official Magazine. His knowledge and passion for the industry makes him the perfect candidate to drive GamesMaster forward and I’m delighted to welcome him back to Future.”

Gregory takes up the new role from Monday, February 17th.
