GameFly sells digital distribution service to AtGames

Retro console manufacturer AtGames has acquired GameFly’s digital distribution service.

Joystiq reports that the service will keep going throughout the transition and the company assures users that they will retain access to their content after the switch is complete.

AtGames, which is best known for making replica retro consoles such as the Sega Genesis Classic Console and Atari Flashback, has also pledged to increase the available lineup of titles.

GameFly will presumably continue with its postal console game rental business. Its digital arm came about when it acquired Direct2Drive from IGN in 2011.
