GamesAid opens nominations for 2013 charities

Members of games industry charity GamesAid are now able to nominate charities for possible support in 2013.

Nominations should be reserved for small UK charities focused on children and young adults with a turnover of no more than 5m and with no more than 30 per cent of turnover being spent on admin costs. Due diligence will be applied to nominations for newer charities whose cost percentage may be higher.

Details of all UK charities, including their turnover, can be seen here.

Only members of GamesAid are able to vote, although membership is open to all industry members and can be applied for here.

The nominations window will remain open until 23:59 on the night on Friday August 16th. All nominations should be emailed to gamesaidnominations2013@gamesaid.org.

The successful charities, as well as the total fundraising figure achieved by GamesAid this past year, will be revealed at the UKIE AGM taking place at Earls Court on Thursday September 26th.

GamesAid has a record of supporting smaller UK based charities with a focus on children and young adults,” GamesAid chairman Stuart Dinsey stated. Every year the GamesAid members will decide who their charity will support this year. Our due diligence process will shortlist suitable charities which can clearly demonstrate how and where the donated funds will be spent, ensuring the money that GamesAid grants generates the maximum benefit for their particular supported cause.”
