There’s a long list of GameStop customers lined up for an Xbox One, and an even longer list for a PS4.
During GameStop’s call to investors yesterday, following the retail chain’s latest quarterly earnings report, president Tony Bartel detailed the ‘first-to-know’ availability lists populated by PowerUp Rewards program members eager to purchase one of the upcoming next-gen consoles.
The Xbox One’s list currently contains 700k members, while the PS4 has more than doubled the amount at a list of 1.5m.
Bartel also shared that GameStop’s launch allocations for the two consoles are up 60 per cent compared to PS3 and Xbox 360’s launch.
Both consoles reached their pre-order allotments at the retailer earlier in the summer, and GameStop CEO Paul Raines was bullish enough to declare that he feels the arrival of Sony and Microsoft’s hardware this holiday season will mark the largest console launch in history.”
