Grand Theft Auto V claims 11th UK No.1

Rockstar’s UK-made crime blockbuster is once again at the head of the Top 40.

This is Grand Theft Auto V’s 11th time at the No.1 spot since its September 2013 release. The game returned to the head of the charts last week, with sales dipping just five per cent week-on-week.

In claiming 11 weeks at the top of the game ranks, Grand Theft Auto V is also a series record for No.1. In December, the game surpassed six million boxed sales.

In second place is EA’s FIFA 17, which rose one place despite an 11 per cent dip in sales. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare drops one position to No.3 with a 34 per cent sales decline.

Ubisoft’s new winter sports IP, Steep, charts at No.7, rising two places last week. This is the highest the title has charted after its less than stellar launch in December. The game saw a three per cent rise in sales week-on-week.

Meanwhile, Overwatch returns to the Top Ten, rising eight places to tenth position. Sales of the team multiplayer title rose four per cent. The last time it was in the Top Ten was the week ending November 12th.

There were some new titles in the charts this week, though outside of the Top Ten. The highest ranking of these was 3DS exclusive, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed KIng, which charted at No.13. In 16th place was PS4-exclusive RPG Gravity Rush 2.

Below is the software Top Ten for the week ending January 21st:
