Gun Loco, a title that was described by publisher Square Enix as a unique sprint-action shooter” with all-new approach to the third-person shooter genre” has been cancelled.
No reason has been given for the decision, with Square Enix simply announcing the move via its website (as translated by Andriasang).
The game was announced in August last year and was to enlist the services of toy maker Kenny Wong for the design of its characters.
Gun Loco’s comic characterisation and furious gameplay is a fantastic take on the third-person shooter and offers the kind of unique twist that only Square Enix can provide,” VP of brand for the PAL region Sarah Hoeksma said of the game at the time.
The action is relentless, the characters unforgettable and the black comedy a perfect fit.”
