Hackers break into uPlay, download Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for free

A group of Russian hackers have apparently discovered an exploit that allows them to download games from Ubisoft’s uPlay store for free.

And furthermore, it has allegedly allowed them to get their hands on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – a game that has got plenty of press inches over the last few days but has yet to be officially announced.

Gameranx reports that the hackers have found a method that effectively tricks uPlay into thinking the user owns games that they have not actually purchased.

They can apparently even obtain direct download links to versions of the game that do not need to be online in order to play, thereby bypassing Ubisoft’s DRM.

Apparently the exploit is still active, although any users taking advantage can likely expect a swift ban from the publisher.
