Mark Jung headlines new OnLive management team

OnLive has revealed its new-look management team ahead of the service’s re-launch today.

Mark Jung leads the hires as executive chairman. Jung is the former co-founder and CEO of IGN and was also CEO of VUDU. He also led the sale of IGN to NewsCorp.

Elsewhere, Carrie Holder joins as VP of business development. She previously worked at EA as director of partner management. In her new role she will be responsible for publisher and developer relations.

Rick Sanchez – former VP of Playdom at Disney – has been named OnLive’s VP of product and marketing, while Don Gordon was named SVP of engineering in March last year.

Bruce Grove continues at OnLive as general manager, based in the UK.

The time it took to get Mark jung was well worth it,” said OnLive lead investor Gary Lauder

I can count the number of people who have: founded gaming companies, managed and grown them to IPO & acquisition, have deep understanding of enterprise markets, have an engineering degree and an MBA, are scary smart, have boundless energy, high integrity, stellar references and are a pleasure to work with…on one finger. Mark is truly the ideal leader as we prepare to deliver entirely new kinds of cloud services to gamers and business.”

Jung added: No other company has been able to deliver games across connected devices over the open Internet with such consistently high standards of performance. If the company can do that with games, which are the most challenging apps to serve effectively from the cloud, the possible applications are endless. OnLive is a disruptive force and I’m thrilled that Gary Lauder has given me the opportunity to lead the Company.”
