MCV Awards 2017: All the winners

PlayStation UK, GAME, Bethesda and PR firm Indigo Pearl were the big winners of this year’s MCV Awards, with PlayStation UK taking the highest number of prizes. Not only did the platform holder win best Digital Marketing Team, Game Campaign for Uncharted 4 and Trade and Marketing Team, but PlayStation Access UK also won best Community Team.

GAME walked away with three awards this evening, winning best Specialist Retailer, best Buying Team and the retailer’s Paul Mulholland winning best Store Manager.

Meanwhile, Bethesda and Indigo Pearl claimed two awards apiece, with Bethesda winning best Marketing Team and best Game Publisher, the latter of which was sponsored by Twitch. Indigo Pearl then won best PR & Comms Team and the firm’s Olly McGowan won Unsung Hero.

Attention Seekers won best Agency Team, Electronic Arts won best In-house PR Team, Ukie won best Events Team, and Ubisoft won best Export Team.

Elsewhere, IGN won best Media Team, 505 Games won Best Indie Label, and Blizzard Entertainment won best New Game Brand for Overwatch.

CentreSoft/Advantage Distribution won best Distribution Team award, which was sponsored by LIME Distribution, and Turtle Beach won best Peripherals and Accessories.

In the retail category, Games Centre won best Independent Retailer, and Argos won best Mainstream Retailer.

In sales, Xbox was awarded best Sales Team, but Nintendo UK took the prize for best Sales Triumph for Pokemon Sun and Moon.

As for Person of the Year, MCV awarded Playground Games’ Gavin Raeburn with the award, after the huge success of Forza Horizon 3.
