MICROSOFT: 60fps Battlefield 4 footage impresses

DICE has taken to the stage of the LA Convention Centre to show off some in-game footage of Battlefield 4.

Visually the demo was hugely impressive – making it perhaps all the more surprising that it was running at 60 frames per second.

Many observers have already questioned the ability of both Xbox One and PS4 to run games at 60fps at 1080p. This new demo should put those concerns to rest.

Of course, the Call of Duties series has always run at 60fps on consoles. But none of them ever looked like this!

The level on show saw players battling to escape an aircraft carrier that was under attack. From the lighting to the scripted action to the raw visual power on show, the entire this was hugely impressive.

DICE also confirmed that map pack Second Assault will be a timed exclusive on Xbox One.

UPDATE: It looks like the footage was actually from the PC version of the game. Thanks to the many keen observers who pointed this out.
