MICROSOFT: Fallout 4 PC mods will also work on Xbox One, will be free

It seems that the days of mods being confined to the PC are about to be over.

Betheda’s Todd Howard took to the stage during Microsoft’s E3 press conference to show off more of the upcoming title, which had been rapturously received just the night before at Bethesda’s own briefing.

As well as providing some demonstrations of the new weapons, combat systems and enemies in the game, Howard also dropped a major bombshell – mods will be coming to Microsoft’s console.

All of the mods created on PC will also be available on Xbox One.

Interestingly, Howard specifically noted that the mods would be free – a statement that flies in the face of the publisher’s attempt to offer paid mods on Valve service Steam earlier this year.

The paid modding platform for 2011 title Skyrim was pulled less than a week after its introduction, after backlash from the community

Microsoft’s press conference also revealed that Fallout 4 for Xbox One will come bundled with a copy of Fallout 3 – a pack-in presumably made possible by the Xbox One’s new backwards compatibility, which was also announced during the briefing.
