Moshi Monsters celebrates 5th birthday with a snazzy infographic

The global phenomenon that isMoshi Monsterscelebrates its fifth year with 80m registered users and $250m total gross retail sales.

Moshi Monstersis an online platform where children can create and nurture virtual pets and make their way around Monstro City to play games and communicate with friends in a safe environment.

Developed in 2008, the brand has expanded into offline products such as books, toys, magazines and music as well as the technology market, withMoshi Monstersbranded tablets, cameras, headsets and phone accessories.

Speaking about the game’s fifth birthday, CEO Michael Acton Smith stated: Many people assume Moshi is a Japanese or American success story, but we’re very proud to say it’s a homegrown British phenomenon. The last five years have been an extraordinary journey. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the millions of children and parents that have adopted a monster and played within the weird and wonderful Moshi world.”
