Need For Speed World goes live in July

EA’s massively multiplayer online racer Need For Speed World will launch on July 20th.

The game will only be available as a downloadable client at world.needforspeed.com, with a free version allowing gamers to access all race events up to level 10.

Beyond that, players will need to purchase the Need For Speed World Starter Pack for 14.99, which grants them new power ups, an exclusive vehicle and full access up to level 50. Additional power-ups and vehicles will also be available for purchase.

Consumers who pre-order Need For Speed World for EA Store or selected digital distributors will gain access to the game one week early on July 13th.

Last week, EA told MCV it hopes to incorporate retail into Need For Speed World’s business model in future.

World is the third and final title that was announced as part of a three-way reboot for the Need For Speed franchise, following last year’s release of the core-focused Shift and family-friendly Nitro.
